“From the Ancient Wisdoms to Quantum Physics,
It's All About the Energy!”

So many holidays to choose from:
     Christmas, Festivus, Hanukkah,
     Winter Solstice, Yule, New Year’s,
     Diwali, Boxing Day, Kwanzaa—

     and MORE!

Birthdays of sundry sages and saints,
Dozens of holy days and festivals.
Holiday rituals of myths and miracles,
Of birth and death, of legends and fables.

     Holidays ancient, holidays modern,
     Holidays national and cultural.
     Holidays religious, holidays secular,
     Holidays public and personal.

Holidays of tragedy, pain, and loss,
     Holidays of freedom and victory.
Rememb’ring with sadness the victims lost,
     Honoring heroes for their bravery.

     Holidays somber, holidays sacred,
Seasons of peace and quiet reflection,
Holidays of mirth, holidays of joy,
Seasons of friendship and warm connection.

     Holidays of place and pilgrimage
Shrouded in the mists of time,
     Holidays of hearth and home,
Feelings of warmth and love sublime.

     Celebrations of feasting and fasting
Take us back home year after year.
Traditional foods that mark the season
Warm our hearts and bring us good cheer.

     And the music—oh, the music!—
That takes us back to childhood memories.
Sweet bygone days that live on and on
In solemn songs and joyous melodies.

     Sacred rites with meanings forgotten,
Passed down the ages from antiquity.
     Customs new and customs different,
     Inspiring our joy and felicity.

     Customs we choose to remember,
     Traditions we choose to forget,
People whose love we hold dearly,
And those we let go with regret.

Holidays celebrated with passion and fervor,
Ignored, or but in part observed,
     Holidays honored for family’s sake,
     One’s own convictions unserved.

Accepting our differences and diversity or
Rejecting them through fear and suspicion,
We choose to embrace the best in others or project
Our worst selves on a world only WE envision.

But if we were all the same,
     How boring would that be?
It’s all “OK;” we’re all different,
And that’s all GOOD, don’t you see?

On holidays we remember, celebrate and honor
Who we were and where we came from
On our way to becoming who we are now,
The launching pad for who we choose to become.

And so I choose to respect YOUR choices
And thank you for sharing YOUR light with me.
May we grow in love and understanding,
And honor YOUR customs that I may see.

     No matter how you celebrate
Or what holiday you’re dreaming of,
I choose to honor YOU, YOUR Choice
With Dignity, Respect, Peace, and Love.

Yes, no matter what your holiday choices,
I wish you Joy and Love sublime,
     May you find YOUR Inner Peace this season;
     Relax! Enjoy! It’s Holiday Time!

Wishing you and yours the very best of this joyous Holiday Season!

Dennis
